The Château de Champs-sur-Marne is typical of 18th-century pleasure homes built in the countryside, enabling a new art of living. It was built between 1703 and 1708 by architects Pierre Bullet and Jean-Baptiste Bullet de Chamblain, at the request of Louis XIV's financier, Paul Poisson de Bourvallais. The château features sumptuous rocaille decorations, as well as chinoiseries painted in the mid-18th century by Christophe Huet.

Opening hours :

• Open all year round
• From October to May, every day except Tuesday: 10am-12.15pm and 1.30pm-5pm
• Between June and the end of September, every day except Tuesday: 10am-12.15pm and 1.30pm-6pm
• The château is closed on January 1, May 1 and December 25.
